WELCOME TO SAFG 2015 SCANDINAVIAN AFRICAN BUSINESS FORUM
Words of Welcome from the Co-chairs
Dear Prospective Delegates,
It is with a great pleasure that we invite you to take part in the 1st SAFG Conference on "EMPOWERING AFRICAN BUSINESSES TO EMPOWER THEIR ECONOMIES (SAFG2015)", 1 to 2 October 2015 in Stockholm, Sweden. This annual forum is the largest open Scandinavian-African conference on business and investment related issues and is expected to gather some 200 delegates from across Scandinavia, Africa and Africans in the diaspora.
SAFG 2015 will be a unique opportunity for all those involved in the global response to development and investment in Africa, including businesses, policy makers, civil society, NGOs, community leaders, and media professionals, to meet and examine the way forward in nurturing investment and development in Africa through partnerships, and explore how such partnerships can be realistically applied in implementation of the Scandinavian Model of investment and development in Africa.
The programme will include ground-breaking presentations from top development and investment experts. In addition, a wide range of dynamic activities, such as workshops, ‘meet the expert’ sessions and symposia sessions will provide participants with opportunities to network, share best practice and present their business ideas in front of other delegates and media representatives from around Europ.

Scandinavia has a strong and long history of leadership in development and business practises across the world, particularly in the implementation of fair development and investment strategies and in research surrounding small and medium-size business development. We are confident that SAFG 2015 delegates will benefit from hearing successes and challenges specific to Scandinavia which has an evidence-based approach to sustainable growth and development.
In the months ahead, we encourage you to learn more about the SAFG 2015 development programme as we are still forging ways to partner with development agencies such as SIDA, DANIDA, NORAD and FIDA, and to get involved in this landmark event by developing and submitting abstracts, and making plans to join us in Stockholm.
